About HTC

htc work day 7-19-14.JPG

Hardscrabble Trails Coalition started around 2012 in an effort to build an organization to take on a stewardship role of the local trail system.  Since then we've had many long term members that have put in countless hours of volunteer work to maintain trails, build new trails, and even build single track side walks for the community to commute on.  As the town has grown, so has HTC and we now have a community driven group of local trail volunteers.

Robert Tadlock, President

Robert is just a guy in town that likes to ride bikes and ski. He’s lived in Eagle a little over 5 years and loves the community. He joined HTC to help maintain trails and bring a little progressive push to new trails and riding areas. His favorite trail in town is Mike’s Night Out and he can often be found biking around Eagle and Gypsum.

Charlie Brown, Vice President

Charlie has been here since the beginning. He’s the owner of The Mountain Pedaler bike shop and even has a trail named after him. Charlie has great connection in town and has helped HTC accomplish many things including building new trails, countless hours of trail maintenance, working with land manager and the town, and just speaking up when needed at meetings.

Laura Turitz, Treasurer

Laura has been at HTC since the very early days. She’s been trying to heard the group and keep track of what’s going on for a long time. She’s an avid biker and co-author of the Mountain Bike Eagle guide book and has spent countless hours working with land managers, the town, and other interested parties to make sure biking continues to evolve down valley.
